“A handful of grain will be scattered on the earth on the top of the mountains; its fruit will make a noise like Lebanon, and those in the city will flourish like the grass of the earth.” Psalm 72:16
The challenges of leadership in ministries today are great. One of them is achieving success. What is success in the first place? And how does it become a reality?
In human philosophy, the concept of success differs quite significantly from how it is viewed in heaven. Success, according to the human concept, is perceived mostly in material things and assigns its full credit precisely to the human being, his or her ability, skill, and ego. Heaven sees the matter very differently.
In Psalm 72:16, we see the result of a resounding success: from a handful of grain, an impressive harvest. And the preceding text (Psalm 72:15) gives us the key: Prayer and blessing.
We conclude that even if we develop every qualification and make every effort, success is still not guaranteed. Success is the development of God's will. His blessing is bestowed upon it. However, if we don't develop those qualifications and don't make greater efforts, true success will not come.
Let us therefore do everything in our power to develop the faculties related to the work God has entrusted to us. Let us make every effort that our mind and body allow. But above all, let us walk with God and trust that the development of His will is true success.
